This is why I Blog

You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of these meaningful, significant things. Some of them may be funny. Some may be of significance only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences."

Forgot

Well this morning must have been a crazy morning although I didn't know it was that crazy until I stepped into the elevator. I looked at myself as the entire elevator is lined with mirrors from the ceiling to the floor...I looked once, then I caught myself looking again....I thought again to myself...I look different today....hum....I suddenly realized I forgot to finish my makeup and didn't wear any mascara....lol I laughed and thought oh well....Crazy mom as Kali would say....So I went on with my day and after work I was heading to American Fork to meet my mom to pick up Kali (she had a sleep-over with grandma and grandpa) I got out of the car and I was talking to my mom and Kali for a minute and then my mom tucked my tag in from the back of my shirt...I thought inside my head, great I spent the whole day with my shirt tag hanging out as well as wearing no mascara....Silly mommy....well then my mom looked at me again :) I said, "WHAT" she said, (kindly in her sweet voice) I think you have your shirt inside out.....low and behold I DID...I had gone the entire day without mascara & with my shirt inside OUT...and of course no one said anything until my lovely MOTHER!!! Silly mommy!! A day to look back and laugh...I don't know if anyone has read or heard the story of the grandma that wears the purple hat...As you grow older and wiser you finally decide....if a purple hat is all you got you better go and concur the world...unless you want to spend your whole life wishing you would have warn mascara and had your shirt right side out...

My Favorite GIRL!!

I have been thinking a lot lately about how much fun it is to be a mother. Yes there are hard moments but for the most part I am thoroughly enjoying being Kali's mom. We do everything together...I love all of the things that she say's and how inquisitive her mind is right now. Everything is, "Why mom"? What happened? I don't know, I never heard that before. (The other day I was singing a song and she looked at me with a puzzled look at said, "Mom don't know those words, never heard them before) She was implying that I had never sung that song to her before. Kids are so amazing... Here are just a few of the conversations we have had the last little while.

When I am laying on the couch she will come up to me and say..."Mom, tired? I reply no just relaxing...Kali will say, "relaxing", NICE"!! In her ahhhh voice.

She is always asking,"What Happened"?..she wants to know everything about what is going on...

The other day I was at the grocery store and there was a lady standing right by me and I said, "go ahead". So all through the store the rest of the time if anyone was standing by us she would say, "go ahead" in this little polite voice.

Anytime I ask her want she wants to drink if we are going out to dinner she will immediately say, COKE!!

Now that she is potty trained (for a little over a month now) anytime she has to use the bathroom she will say, "Mom/Dad/grandma/tiffy (whoever is around) POTTY, HURRY!! I think this is because when we first started potty training we would say come on HURRY!! So now is is saying the same thing...Funny kid

She loves her cousin Cooper and sometimes she will look right at him as if he understands and say, "Cooper, outside walk, with me"? He will smile at her and then she will want to carry him outside with her. (Thank goodness Cooper is good natured because Kali loves him)

Anytime Kali see 's a boy or girl she doesn't know she will look at me and say, "Mom GUY, GIRL"? Whichever it is...She is really good about know who is who.

She can pretty much say any word that she wants and continues to amaze us on the words that she does know. This is a really fun age.

On the nights that I don't work the next day as I am rocking her to sleep I will say, "Kali, guess what"? She will look at me with those big blue eyes and say, "Mommy home". This means I am staying home the next day and her little eyes just light up. It is so nice to know that you can have so much love for a little girl. She has blessed our lives and the lives of our family tremendously!! We are so thankful she came to our home.

Kevin & Liz Wedding

Kali & one of her favorite uncles CORY...Ladies he is single and he is a keeper :)

Grandpa Carter & kali dancing at the wedding...Dad jetted out of there as soon as the dancing started so thanks to grandpa Kali got to dance. Brian this is something you are going to work on...I am sure your girls are going to want to DANCE!!
Kevin & Liz's wedding was last week and what a perfect day it was. The sun was shinning the weather was gorgeous and so were the bride and groom. We are so excited for Liz to be in our family and for both of them letting us share such a special day. Here are a few pictures from the reception that night...I forgot my camera at the temple.

Watch Bracelets

Well our ward was having a fundraiser for the Young Women to attend camp & they were asking everyone to donate something homemade. I wanted to make something fun and learn how to do something different. So I signed up to make Watch Bracelets. It was really fun and all of them sold right away... (Thanks to the girls who bought them, I hope you enjoy them) It was fun learning something new...Thanks Marci & Emily for helping me out..

Daddy's Birthday

Well Brian's birthday was a couple of weeks ago and I don't know where the time has gone.

That morning I ran in my very first 5K it was so much fun. It was for benefit of a guy's daughter that I work with. There were lots of people I knew there, and I think that motivated ME!! Brian played in the Payson softball tournament all day, so Kali and I spent the day at the park. We decided to bring Oranges (So I was like the team MOM) lol for a birthday treat... all they guys were laughing but they ate all the oranges so it must not have been that bad of an idea, right?

After the tournament was over Nate & Tiffany had a birthday party for him...Nate made awesome wings and we bbq-ed chicken, steak and had some yummy salads...Nate & Tiffany's house is the summer house since they are the lucky' ones with a POOL...Thanks again for always letting us come to your house. As you can see from the pictures Kali thought the pool was warm enough...notice that no one else is in....She is our little water girl (She must be related to the Pratt's)

Brian is such a great husband and dad. He is always more patient that I would except, , he always helps me out...ALWAYS...and usually has a smile doing it. He is a great support to our family and he is a really hard worker...I don't know what I would do without him...Babe we love you so much and hope you had a great birthday!
